Knit Hat pattern

Supplies:

worsted weight yarn
size 8 16" circular
4 size 8 dpns


Cast on 88 stitches. Put stitch marker to mark beginning of round.  Join being careful not to twist.

work k2p2 rib for about 10-15 rows, depending on how wide you want it

K every row (this will give you the stockinette stitch) for  the desired length of head, about 1.5" from the top of hat

start decreasing

k6 k2tog   repeat all around

k the next 2 rounds

k5 k2tog all around

k the next round

Here is where you need to switch to double pointed needles.  Just distribute the stitches somewhat evenly on 3 needles

k4 k2tog all around

k next round

k3 k2tog all around

k next round

k2 k2tog

k next round

k1 k2tog all around

k next round

k2tog all around

Cut about a 2" tail and weave through remaining stitches.  Weave in ends
